Don’s love of photography began in high school in the early 70’s when he joined the high school photo club, and it continues to inspire him to this day.  After graduation, Don worked at a local studio, photographing weddings, commercial work and shooting film for various TV networks.
In 1974, Don attended the New York Institute of Photography in Manhattan, and while there, received the Director’s Award for Photographic Excellence.  Returning home, Don worked as a commercial photographer for 18 years at CHSJ/MITV television in Saint John, NB.
Don moved to Halifax in 1999, and was won numerous photographic awards, including the International Print of the Year in the Photographic Society of America’s International Club Print Competition in 2008.

Don believes you don’t have to travel to get beautiful shots; “Photographs are all around us just waiting to be taken.  It’s not what you see, it’s how you see it.”
